Daily Rate: £110 - 120
Days: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only), 08:30 – 15:45
Start Date: September 1 st 2026
Contract: Long-Term temporary, Temp to Perm
Long Term Futures are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive primary school in central Walsall, seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their SEND provision from September.
The provision supports pupils with EHCPs, providing tailored learning opportunities for children with a range of additional needs, including Autism, Speech, Language and Communication Needs, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health. This role would suit someone who is patient, resilient and passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning in a nurturing and structured environment.
Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with EHCPs on a 1:1 basis and in small groups within the school's SEND provision.
- Deliver personalised learning activities and interventions under the guidance of the class teacher and SENDCo.
- Build positive relationships that encourage confidence, communication and emotional regulation.
- Adapt learning resources to meet individual needs and learning styles.
- Support pupils with social interaction, behaviour regulation and personal development.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and other professionals to ensure every child receives the support they need.
- Monitor progress and contribute to pupil reviews and target setting.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience supporting children with SEND in a primary school or specialist setting.
- Knowledge of Autism, SLCN and SEMH, with an understanding of strategies that support these needs.
- A calm, caring and resilient approach to supporting children with additional needs.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine passion for inclusive education and helping every child succeed.
