Flourish Education is recruiting a dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join a welcoming Secondary School in Walsall from September 2026 until March 2027. This is a great opportunity to join a supportive school and deliver engaging lessons that help students develop practical skills, confidence and a strong understanding of food and nutrition.
The successful Food Technology Teacher will teach across KS3 and KS4, delivering a combination of practical cooking and theory-based lessons covering food preparation, nutrition and food science. You will encourage students to develop their creativity and independence while maintaining high standards of behaviour, food hygiene and safety.
This role would suit an experienced Food Technology Teacher, although suitably qualified ECTs are also welcome to apply. The school offers a positive working environment where staff are supported to deliver high-quality teaching and help students achieve their potential.
The position is due to start in September 2026 and will continue until March 2027.
Job Role- Deliver engaging Food Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Cover key areas including nutrition, food preparation, food science and healthy eating
- Plan and adapt lessons to meet the needs of students with different abilities
- Combine practical activities with relevant theoretical knowledge
- Maintain high standards of behaviour and engagement during classroom and practical lessons
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback
- Ensure food hygiene, health and safety procedures are followed at all times
- Develop positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Food Technology Teacher, Design Technology Teacher or Secondary Teacher
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Recent experience teaching Food Technology within a UK Secondary School
- Strong subject knowledge covering food preparation, nutrition and food science
- Good understanding of the KS3 and KS4 curriculum
- Ability to deliver engaging and practical lessons
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- A passion for helping students develop practical skills and confidence
- Pay from £174.71 to £240.70 per day, equivalent to £34,068 to £46,937 per annum based on working 5 days a week for a full school year, dependent on experience (M1-M6)

This Food Technology Teacher position is based in Walsalland is easily commutable from Sutton Coldfield, Brownhills, Great Barr, Lichfield, Cannock and the surrounding areas. The school benefits from good transport links and is accessible by both car and public transport.
