Do you have the skills to engage students who face social, emotional and mental health challenges and help them achieve success in education? This SEMH school in Walsall is looking to appoint a dedicated SEMH Class Teacher to join their supportive and experienced team.
As an SEMH Class Teacher, you will teach small classes of pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, many of whom have experienced significant barriers to learning. You will create a structured, nurturing and engaging classroom environment where pupils feel safe, supported and able to re-engage with education.
Working alongside experienced Teaching Assistants and pastoral staff, you will build positive relationships with students, support their emotional development and help them achieve both academically and personally. This role requires excellent classroom management skills, patience and a commitment to helping every pupil reach their potential.
Job Role:- Teaching small classes of pupils with SEMH needs
- Planning and delivering engaging and differentiated lessons
- Creating a calm, structured and supportive learning environment
- Building positive relationships with pupils to support engagement and progress
- Managing challenging behaviour using consistent and positive strategies
- Working closely with Teaching Assistants, pastoral staff and external agencies
- Supporting pupils' emotional wellbeing and personal development
- Assessing, monitoring and recording pupil progress
- Teach small classes with excellent support from Teaching Assistants
- Work within a supportive and experienced SEMH team

- Be paid to scale in line with experience up to MPS 6
