A secondary school in Walsall is seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join its English department from September 2026 on a supply basis.
The successful candidate will teach English Language and English Literature across KS3 and KS4, delivering engaging and well-structured lessons that develop students' reading, writing, communication, and analytical skills. You will inspire students to engage with a wide range of literary texts while supporting them in making strong academic progress and preparing for their GCSE English qualifications.
Working within a supportive English department, you will plan and deliver high-quality lessons, assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and create a positive and inclusive classroom environment. You will maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement while encouraging students to develop confidence, creativity, and a genuine appreciation of English.
The Candidate- Hold QTS or be an ECT
- Have experience teaching English Language and English Literature across KS3 and KS4
- Be confident delivering the GCSE English curriculum
- Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills
- Be committed to supporting student progress and raising attainment
- Have a genuine passion for English and inspiring young people
