Band 7-11, £18,487 - £20,019

Part-time post: 30.0 hours per week pro rata (term-time only)

Temporary until August 2029
* This post is temporary for the duration of the special needs provision of a pupil with an EHCP. This post will terminate should the pupil leave the school or when/if the special needs provision for the pupil is withdrawn.

Elmore Green Primary School are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to support teaching and learning of a pupil with significant additional needs.

We are looking for a highly competent person who is passionate about working with children who have additional needs. We are looking to appoint a dedicated teaching assistant who has experience of working with pupils with complex difficulties; specifically, those with neuro-divergence and those with communication, interaction and global delay needs.

The ideal candidate will have a proven record of supporting SEND pupils to achieve their full potential within Key Stage 1 and/or 2. They should also be able to demonstrate effective ways of working with pupils to raise their attainment and be able to motivate and enthuse pupils to learn.

In addition, the successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate they;

• Can support the social, emotional mental health needs of our pupils;
• Are flexible in their approach to the needs of our pupils and be ready to change their practice readily to engage them;
• Have a positive ‘can-do’ attitude to the challenges of every school day.

• Have a secure knowledge of a range of special educational needs;
• Have the confidence, determination and resilience to thrive in an environment that supports continuous school improvement;
• Have the ability to create and support effective teamwork;
• Possess the personal skills needed to be able to communicate effectively within the school and with a range of external professionals, parents and governors;
• Are passionate about inclusion and the learning and development of every child.

You will also need to be able to:

• Demonstrate good English, Maths and IT skills;
• Work well under your own initiative as well as part of a team;
