Leakage Technician; Nights

Job Title: Leakage Technician (Nights)
Salary: Up to £34,006 per annum plus night allowance and a generous bonus scheme
Hours: 40 hours per week
Location: Walsall

Water is vital and part of our daily lives; at South Staffs Water it is important to us to protect this essential resource. Our Leakage Department are an experienced team contributing daily towards reducing water leakage. We have a fantastic Leakage Technician opportunity within our leakage team, to support and contribute to our leakage detection targets. If you have an excellent understanding of water distribution networks this may be the role for you.

• Permanent Night work – 4x10 hour shifts
• Undertake field-based leakage detection within an allocated group of districts metered areas (DMAs)
• Detect and localise leakage effectively, utilising different leakage detection equipment
• Undertaking valve operations, step testing and DMA integrity tests to better understand DMAs and aid in the future optimisation of the network
• Conducting Pressure, Flow, or Noise data logging
• Carry out adequate and accurate completion of all paperwork
• Provide information which will influence job planning, decision making and the service we provide to our customers
• Manage client expectations proactively and answer customer concerns and inquiries in a calm and professional manner
• Adapting to new technologies and offer thoughts and ideas to benefit the wider team

• Excellent communication skills to effect positive interactions with customers
• A good standard of education in Maths and English at GCSE level or equivalent
• PC literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office applications like Word and Excel
• Possession of a valid and current driving license
