Senior Quality and Process Control Engineer
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quality and Process Control Engineer to lead quality compliance and process control activities across a specialist high security and safety product range.
Based within a manufacturing and assembly environment, this role is responsible for ensuring products meet the highest standards of safety, compliance, performance and traceability. The successful candidate will work closely with manufacturing, engineering, project delivery and installation teams while supporting major secure infrastructure and custodial projects across the UK.
Key Responsibilities- Establish and maintain robust process control systems across multiple product categories
- Ensure compliance with client specifications, industry standards, UK regulations and internal engineering requirements
- Develop and monitor inspection and testing procedures from raw material receipt through to final site approval
- Manage contractor quality platforms to record site issues and monitor corrective actions
- Lead the full corrective and preventive action process from issue identification through to long term resolution
- Carry out root cause analysis using structured methodologies including 5 Whys, Fishbone Analysis and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and installation teams to implement preventive quality controls and reduce repeat issues
- Attend project sites across the UK to assess installation quality and compliance for products including
- Windows and doors
- Service and riser doors
- Timber and joinery packages
- Furniture fittings and locking systems
- Provide technical support to site installation teams
- Conduct installation audits, site inspections and final compliance checks
- Maintain product traceability through digital tracking systems
- Prepare and review quality documentation including
- Inspection and Test Plans
- Compliance documentation
- Certificates and as built records
- Deliver clear quality reporting to clients and project stakeholders
- Support pre construction quality planning and risk assessments
- Build strong working relationships with contractors, clients and delivery partners
- Significant experience within quality leadership roles in manufacturing, construction or high security environments
- Strong understanding of custodial or secure environment specifications and compliance standards
- Proven experience managing corrective and preventive action processes and driving process improvements
- Ability to support fast paced construction and multisite operations
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Client facing experience with the ability to build trusted relationships
- Willingness to travel nationally and work flexibly when required
