Principal Planning Officer

Triumph Consultants are looking for an experienced Principal Planning Officer (Development Management) to manage complex minor and major planning applications, pre‑application enquiries and associated appeals. The contract is for 3 months in Walsall WS1 1TP
.

Principal Planning Officer (Development Management)
Pay Rate: £35.94 per hour PAYE
Hours per week: 37, Monday-Friday, standard working hours
Contract length: 3 months
Location: Walsall WS1 1TP

Hybrid - 2 days per week on site, including Tuesdays

• Strong development management experience handling complex minor and major planning applications, pre-applications and appeals.
• Significant knowledge of planning legislation, with the ability to interpret technical plans and prepare, authorise and present clear reports.
• A postgraduate planning qualification, with RTPI membership or progress towards accreditation, plus access to a vehicle for site visits.

• Manage complex cases from site visits, negotiation and assessment through delegated decisions, committee recommendations and monitoring compliance.
• Support other officers, advise developers and stakeholders, present at meetings and committees, and prepare evidence for planning appeals.
