Emergency Department- Senior Sister​/Charge Nurse

An exciting secondment opportunity has risen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Band 7 Sister/Charge Nurse Emergency Department to join our existing team within Walsall Manor Hospital. We are looking for someone who has demonstrative recent experience at band 6 or higher working within an Emergency Department. The ability to work as part of a team and good communication skills are a must.

Working a mixture of shifts.

As a Senior Sister/Charge Nurse you will have excellent leadership skills and will embrace the challenge of working in a highly demanding and diverse environment, while actively supporting the nursing team to ensure high standards of care are delivered.

This is a rewarding but challenging role, that requires you to organise and priorities patient care to ensure maximum flow through the department, and provide support and advice to junior members of the team and/or students.

Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is an integrated Trust and the only provider of NHS acute care in Walsall, serving a population of 284,300. It provides inpatient and outpatient services at the Manor Hospital as well as a wide range of services in the community. Walsall Manor houses the full range of district general hospital services under one roof. The £170 million development was completed in 2010, and ongoing upgrades ensure the Trust now has state-of-the-art facilities, including a Critical Care Unit, Neonatal Unit, Obstetric Theatre, and Integrated Assessment Unit.

A new Urgent and Emergency Care Centre, opened in March 2023, has significantly improved emergency care facilities and capacity, providing almost 5,000 square metres of additional clinical space.

We aim to recruit new Nurses that will be keen to work within a Multi-Disciplinary Team to aid Audits and service developments, and in a leadership role will be responsible for a team of Nurses to ensure they are up to date with Appraisal, Training and have provide the management to support your team in ED.

• Experience in the emergency department setting
• Evidence of high
  -level clinical skills and knowledge

• NMC registration
• 998 / D32/33 or equivalent or evidence of experience in assessing and training
• Adanced life support
• Evidence of leadership skills
• Knowledge of Clinical audits
• Experience of service planning and help with managing change
