Senior Practitioner / Practice Educator Occupational Therapist

To deliver this Workforce Strategy we have established a brand-new Workforce Development Team to support us in ensuring we have the right people in the right place at the right time who are recognised and valued for their contribution.
If you are an experienced occupational therapist with a passion for the development of the occupational therapy workforce, supporting students, apprentices and newly qualified OTs, you could be just the person we are looking for!
ResponsibilitiesWorking in collaboration with Occupational Therapy Advanced Practitioners you will take a lead role in developing and co-ordinating student placements and providing support to Practice Educators. You will have oversight of our Assessed and Supported Year in Practice Programme for newly qualified OTs and our Enhanced Induction Programme for OTs new to social care, and will oversee our occupational therapy and vision rehabilitation apprenticeships.
Additionally, the position supports the Workforce Development Manager and Principal Occupational Therapist in planning and delivering comprehensive workforce learning activities to our occupational therapy and wider workforce.
- You will have a minimum of 2 years post qualifying experience preferably working in an adult social care setting.
- You will have significant and proven post qualifying experience as a Practice Educator supporting OT students and other learners.
- You will demonstrate a commitment to developing occupational therapy as a career within adult social care.
- You will have the ability to build effective relationships and collaborate in multi-disciplinary, multi-agency teams, contributing to key decision making and problem solving.
- Access to additional training including post qualifying awards

- A robust supervision policy, Continuous Improvement Conversations and Personal Development Plans, regular CPD and peer support.
- Payment of HCPC registration fees will be met by the Local Authority.
- Onsite OT assessment and training facility.
