As a Senior Care Assistant, you will lead a team of Care Assistants, maintain high standards of care, and influence the rest of the team. You may assist with activities such as showing someone how to use a walking frame, supporting end-of-life nutrition, or communicating with a resident’s family.

You will also assist the Registered Nurse and Care Manager and contribute to physical and mental stimulation through social and recreational activities, as well as administering medication.

One of your key responsibilities is to maintain accurate records of the work you do and build strong relationships with your team.

  • Lead a team of Care Assistants and maintain the highest standards of care.
  • Support residents with daily living, social and recreational activities, and clinical support as required.
  • Assist the Registered Nurse and Care Manager in delivering care plans and monitoring resident wellbeing.
  • Ensure accurate record keeping and documentation of care delivery and observations.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families and colleagues with kindness and respect.
  • Contribute to safeguarding, dignity, and person-centred care in all interactions.
Qualifications
  • Ideally, a Level 2 Diploma S/NVQ in Adult Social Care; prepared to work towards Level 3 qualification in Adult Social Care or equivalent.
  • Background in person-centred care planning and knowledge of caring for people with dementia.
  • Brilliant positive energy and natural ability to get along with people.
  • Strong record-keeping skills and ability to manage time effectively.
  • Kind, considerate and professional communication with residents and co-workers.
About HC-One

At HC-One, kindness is more than a word. It is a belief that caring for people means caring about what matters most to them so we can support them to lead their best possible life.

We focus on five qualities that the HC-One team shows up with, supports and coaches in each other every day. We champion inclusivity and foster a workplace where everyone feels valued and can be themselves. Our diverse and inclusive workforce allows us to learn from each other and better represent the communities we serve.

Saf safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility in adult social care. You will be able to recognise signs of potential abuse, harm or neglect and know how to act. All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding training appropriate to their role and to undertake additional training in related areas. You will have access to advice and escalation channels when concerns arise.
