MSK Sonographer

Salary: £48,000 - £60,000 per annum

About the Sonographer role:
We are looking for an MSK Sonographer to support our Diagnostic World ultrasound services across Walsall.

You will make healthcare better for our patients by undertaking ultrasound procedures efficiently and effectively for both the public and private sectors; adhering to best practice of ultrasound technique in line with company policy and guidelines.

Diagnostic World are a leading provider of NHS and Private healthcare with services delivered from Community Diagnostic Centres, Community Health Centres and within our fleet of mobile and relocatable units. Within our service offering, we provide General and Musculoskeletal Ultrasound to patients across the Midlands & South-East on a referred and self-referred basis.

What Sonographer will do:

* To provide general abdominal, pelvic, small parts and vascular/MSK/Early Pregnancy (if appropriately trained) ultrasound scanning services in conjunction with other Sonographers and health care professionals.

* To independently perform ultrasound scanning duties to the required standards of Diagnostic World and client partners and to produce a clinical report for each ultrasound scan undertaken.

* To undertake any administrative duties necessary for speedy progression of patients and patient results e.g. Patient Escalations.

* To actively participate in matters concerning clinical governance, clinical audit and assessment

* To have responsibility for ensuring active participation in continuing professional development (CPD).

* To undertake any equipment tests as part of Diagnostic Healths quality assurance program and to report any equipment faults to the service manager

* To adhere to company policy and procedures in terms of health and safety, data protection and confidentiality and SOPs

* To give full co-operation in any investigations of a complaint or untoward incident and comply with company procedure to that effect.

* To ensure that professional and technical knowledge/expertise is kept up to date and to maintain a portfolio to show evidence of personal professional development.

* To participate in individual performance review (appraisal) on an annual basis.

* To hold, and when required exchange with colleagues, company assets required to carry out service effectively.

Additional/ad-hoc responsibilities:

* Second opinion on discrepancy cases and involvement in peer-to-peer audit

* Advice on a complaint/incident

* Assist with recruitment when required

* Join Clinical Advisory Board meetings when requested and assist in the review of reporting guidelines

About Sonographer:

* Hold a relevant BSc (Hons) degree.

* Hold mandatory registration with HCPC or RCT

* Hold a full UK driving License.

* Have a strong understanding of Data Protection Have Ultrasound Scanning

Experience:

Gynecology and abdominal scanning

* Have experience of independent reporting

* Be able to provide evidence of CPD

* Minimum 12 months NHS experience
