  • Deliver specialist assessments and interventions for service users with communication and/or swallowing difficulties.
  • Manage a designated caseload, planning and evaluating interventions to support positive outcomes.
  • Demonstrate specialist skills in managing complex cases, including those involving cultural and linguistic differences.
  • Develop and implement appropriate strategies for effective caseload management.
  • Lead therapeutic group sessions and provide individual interventions where required.
  • Undertake audits and contribute to service development and research initiatives.
  • Provide specialist knowledge in areas such as acquired communication disorders, swallowing disorders, and mental health-related communication needs.
  • Work collaboratively
    with the wider multidisciplinary team to support recovery-focused care.

You will be based at Wellesley Hospital, a purpose-built 101 bed hospital providing specialist care for men and women with mental health conditions. Opened in 2017, Wellesley Hospital works in partnership with Devon Partnership NHS Trust, Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust, Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust, Cygnet Health Care, and Livewell Southwest, helping to provide outstanding care and positive outcomes for service users.

The hospital offers a modern, therapeutic environment designed to support recovery, wellbeing, and independence, with a strong focus on delivering person-centred care.

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • HCPC registration
  • Experience of managing a caseload involving assessment and treatment of dysphagia
  • Experience of working with families
  • Evidence of continuing Professional Development
