Position: Community Protection Officers - Ref: EE12025

Community Protection Officers –

G8: £39,152 – £41,771 per annum.

Community Protection are a hard‑working, responsive front‑line service protecting the communities and environment of Walsall from harm. This role targets anti‑social behaviour, neighbour nuisance, fly‑tippers, litterers, highway obstructions and environmental harm. There is also an opportunity to work on unauthorised encampments and to deal with the licensed trade and taxi trade to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. The team works closely with partners such as the police, social landlords and internal departments to target resources and legal powers to maximum effect.

You should have experience or the ability to work in a busy front‑line enforcement team. You will carry a high workload of reactive cases whilst also contributing to proactive initiatives aimed at reducing demand and improving the environment and quality of life for the communities of Walsall. You will be expected to mediate and negotiate positive outcomes to cases and initiate legal proceedings through warning letters, fixed penalty notices, statutory notices and court cases where the worst offences are dealt with.

The post holder must have a methodical approach, attention to detail and be able to manage time to keep the workload moving often ining is provided in all areas of responsibility and there is potential to work with partners and other agencies on complex and interesting cases.
