Overview
Commercial Litigator (5
PQE+) to join a well established Dispute Resolution team in the Midlands. The successful candidate will handle a broad caseload of complex commercial disputes, providing high-quality legal advice to corporate and individual clients. This role offers the opportunity to manage significant matters independently while also working as part of a collaborative team on larger, high-value disputes.
- Managing a varied caseload of commercial disputes, including contract disputes, shareholder and partnership disputes, and other contentious business matters.
- Advising clients strategically on risk management, dispute avoidance, settlement options, and litigation tactics.
- Drafting and reviewing pleadings, witness statements, evidence, and other court documents.
- Representing clients in the High Court, County Court, and arbitration/ADR forums.
- Leading negotiations, mediations, and settlement discussions.
- Supervising and supporting junior team members, trainees, and paralegals where appropriate.
- Developing and maintaining strong client relationships, actively contributing to business development initiatives.
- Keeping abreast of legal developments and ensuring compliance with relevant procedural rules and professional obligations.
- Qualified solicitor (England & Wales) with at least 5 years’ PQE in commercial litigation/dispute resolution.
- Strong technical expertise across a wide range of contentious commercial matters.
- Proven ability to manage cases autonomously from instruction through to resolution.
- Excellent written and oral advocacy skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to provide pragmatic, business-focused advice.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and instil client confidence.
- Experience supervising junior lawyers and contributing to team development is desirable.
- A proactive, ambitious, and collaborative approach to practice and client service.
