Our client is an established logistics and freight forwarding business providing a range of international freight and supply chain services.
Supporting customers with the movement of goods across the UK and internationally, the business provides services including freight forwarding, customs clearance and transportation.
Due to continued growth, they are now looking to recruit an experienced Customs Clearance Clerk to join their team and support the accurate and timely clearance of shipments.

Work hours:
Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm
⦁ Salary: £30,000 to £33,000
⦁ 20 days Holiday plus Bank Holidays
Customs Clearance Clerk Responsibilities:
⦁ Handle day-to-day UK import customs clearance, ensuring shipments are processed efficiently and accurately.
⦁ Prepare and process customs declarations using relevant customs clearance systems.
⦁ Manage customs clearance for international freight shipments entering the UK.
⦁ Prepare, check and process all relevant customs and import documentation.
⦁ Ensure documentation and declarations comply with current UK customs requirements.
⦁ Liaise with relevant third parties, including freight providers, transport partners and customers, to ensure the smooth movement of goods.
⦁ Monitor shipments and resolve customs or documentation queries that could cause delays.
⦁ Ensure customs declarations are completed accurately and within required timescales.
⦁ Maintain accurate records and provide updates on shipment progress.
Customs Clearance Clerk
Skills and Experience:
⦁ Previous experience within UK customs clearance is essential.
⦁ Experience using a recognised customs clearance system.
⦁ Good knowledge of UK customs procedures and documentation.
⦁ Experience preparing and processing customs declarations.
⦁ Previous experience within freight forwarding, logistics or a similar environment would be advantageous.
⦁ Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
⦁ Confident using computer systems and maintaining accurate records.
⦁ Able to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers and other third parties.
⦁ Comfortable working to deadlines and managing multiple shipments or clearance requirements
