Job Summary

This post is a permanent position based at Walsall NHS Trust (WHT), hosted by the North Midlands Black Country Procurement Group (NMBC). The Strategic Procurement Manager Non‑Medical will be a vital member of the NMBC Senior Management team, managing a team of staff responsible for the procurement of all Non‑Medical Contracts for the Royal Wolverhampton & Walsall Healthcare Trusts reporting to the Head of Strategic Procurement – Non‑Medical.
Key Responsibilities- This post will be integral in supporting the Department in the delivery of all strategic objectives of all Trusts represented.
- Support the Department’s national/regional obligations and the implementation of the local Procurement strategy to meet the needs of the host Trust’s customer base, maximise value for money, minimise operational/commercial risk whilst ensuring compliance with EU Procurement Legislation, UK Law and the Trust’s Standing Financial Instructions.
- Directly responsible for Strategic Procurement and commercial, strategic duties within RWT & WHT.
The North Midlands and Black Country Procurement Group (NMBC) is comprised of The University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust (UHNM), The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust (RWT), Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust (WHT), The Black Country Pathology Services (BCPS), North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust (NSCHT), Black Country Healthcare Foundation Trust (BCHFT), Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT) and Midlands and Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit (MLCSU).
The NMBC is responsible for all aspects of Procurement, Supply Chain and wider Commercial support to the aforementioned organisations covering a range of Acute, Mental Health, Community, Pathology Networks, GP Practices and Commissioning Support Units across Staffordshire, Stoke‑on‑Trent, Black Country, Shropshire and South Cheshire Integrated Care System (ICS). With almost 200 staff, 55,000 users and managing a total non‑pay spend portfolio of over £1.2 billion per annum the NMBC is one of the largest and influential Group Procurement Organisations (GPO) in the NHS.
This post will be based at the Walsall NHS Trust (WHT) in the Moat Road Clinic.
