Children’s Registered Home Manager
Location:
Walsall
Highly competitive salary - up to £55,000 with bonus scheme in place

- Passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people in residential care
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in children’s residential care, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to commence within 6 months of appointment)
- Strong understanding of The Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, SCCIF, and wider childcare legislation
- Experience supporting children with emotional, behavioural, and social difficulties, including trauma-informed practice
- Strong leadership skills with experience in planning, organisation, and team management
Knowledge of budget management, resource allocation, and operational oversight - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Full UK driving licence
- Lead and manage a 5-bed Ofsted-registered children’s complex care home supporting children aged 5–12
- Ensure each young person has a comprehensive, individualised care plan covering emotional, educational, social, health, and developmental needs
- Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing staff team, ensuring strong induction, supervision, and ongoing development
- Promote a culture of participation, ensuring children are actively involved in decisions about their care
- Allocate Key Workers and ensure effective delivery of care plans
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements, including National Minimum Standards and the Home’s Statement of Purpose
- Take responsibility for safeguarding, complaints, and child protection matters, ensuring appropriate escalation and resolution
- Build strong working relationships with external professionals, including social workers, families, and multi-agency partners
- Attend and contribute to care planning meetings, reviews, and professional discussions
- Promote a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment for all children
- Ensure effective financial and operational management of the home in line with budget expectations
