Job Title: MIG Fabricator
Location: Walsall, West Midlands
Salary: £15.50 – £16.50 per hour (DOE)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:30 - 16:30
Overtime: Available
We are currently working with a growing precision sheet metal and fabrication business based in the West Midlands, specialising in high-quality metal components, fabricated assemblies, and bespoke engineered products.
The company operates a modern fabrication facility with full in-house capabilities including CNC machining, sheet metal cutting and forming, MIG welding, fabrication, and finishing processes. They supply a range of sectors including industrial, electrical, and general engineering, with a strong focus on quality, accuracy, and on-time delivery.
Role OverviewWe are currently recruiting for an experienced MIG Fabricator to join a skilled and growing workshop team. This is a hands‑on role working in a busy fabrication environment, producing high‑quality metal components and assemblies to engineering specifications.
Key Responsibilities- MIG welding and fabrication of mild steel components
- Fabrication and assembly of metal products and structures
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Working with sheet metal components using a range of fabrication tools and machinery
- Cutting, grinding, drilling, and preparing materials for welding
- Carrying out quality checks to ensure accuracy and finish standards are met
- Supporting production targets and deadlines
- Maintaining a safe and organised workshop environment
- Proven experience as a MIG Fabricator
- Strong fabrication experience within a workshop environment
- Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings
- Experience using general workshop machinery and hand tools
- High attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience in sheet metal fabrication or precision engineering environments
- Previous work on bespoke or small‑batch fabrication projects
- Relevant fabrication or welding qualifications (NVQ / City & Guilds or equivalent)
- Competitive hourly rate from £15.50 – £16.50 DOE
- Full‑time, stable day shift (no nights)
