Trainee Shop Manager – The role involves a permanent full-time (45 hours per week) position based in Bloxwich, offering an 18‑month training programme that culminates in a Level 4 Retail Manager apprenticeship and permanent employment.
Training & Development- Initial training period working alongside an experienced shop manager to develop practical retail management skills.
- Progressive responsibility, including a period of running the shop with high support from the Area Manager.
- Approximately 3–6 months into the programme, you will take full responsibility for the shop, subject to performance review.
- Training towards a Level4 Retail Manager apprenticeship qualification with Inspiro, our approved training provider.
- Support with upskilling Maths and English (if required).
- Completion of an independent end‑point assessment at the end of training.
- Starting salary of £32,648.16, potentially rising to £35,306.88 after six months based on KPIs.
- Level4 Retail Manager apprenticeship qualification.

- Fully accountable for your shop; ensure customers are looked after and shop routines are completed to maintain a safe, clean, and tidy shop.
- Motivate and guide the team to be as successful and efficient as possible.
- Lead by example and participate in day‑to‑day tasks running one of our busy shops.
- Control key costs, including payroll, shrinkage and waste.
- Meet standards in customer service, cash handling, health & safety, stock management, merchandising and presentation.
- Take responsibility for recruitment, training and development of the team.
- Complete Employment Verification check and a Basic DBS check (England/Wales) or Disclosure Scotland check (Scotland) if offered the position.
- Friendly, positive, hardworking approach to work.

- Trustworthy and reliable, dependable as part of a small team.
- Organisation and composure in busy, high‑pressure situations.
- Commitment to completing all work set by the apprenticeship provider on time and to high standards.
