Senior Social Worker – East Locality –
Walsall Council Grade: G10; £47,181 – £50,269 per annum per annum.
Children are at the heart of Walsall local authority. They receive support, help and services that reduce risks for them and meet their needs. (Ofsted, 2025)
Responsibilities- Work closely with families and professionals to assess risk, build safety plans and help children thrive.
- Manage a small number of children within complex situations.
- Support the Team Manager with specific tasks and help improve team performance through sharing experience and knowledge.
- Ensure ongoing “Outstanding” support for children and families through practitioner support within the team.
- Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) clearance required.
- English fluency duty: ability to communicate verbally with customers in accurate spoken English.
- Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
- Manageable workloads and high support from managers.
- Essential paperwork only, enabling technologies and a 9‑day fortnight to support work/life balance.
- Flexible working and specialist employee assistance and therapeutic support when needed.
- Comprehensive training and development programme contributing to our Outstanding Ofsted grading.
