Agency Social Worker - Learning Disabilities Council

Our client, Walsall Council, is seeking an agency social worker for its Learning Disabilities team.

This role will last 3 months initially, and the pay rate is £28.40 umbrella (in line with the West Midlands MOU for adult social care).

The role will involve the following:

• To improve outcomes for adults with care and support needs and carers.
• To undertake effective strengths-based assessments, planning and direct work with adults with care and support needs and carers that identifies needs in accordance with the Care Act 2014, statutory guidance, policy and procedures.
• To undertake safeguarding duties as required to protect adults with care and support needs from abuse or neglect.
• To practice social work in a transparent, accountable and safe way in accordance with professional standards, ethics and values.

Requirements of the role:

• Qualified Social Worker
• Fully Social Work England registered
• 2 years post-qualified experience in adult social care as a minimum
• Proven experience in a similar setting e.g. learning disabilities, mental health, locality work etc.
