Position: Senior Reablement Officer - Ref: SS01926

Senior Reablement Officer –

Salary G6: £31,537 - £34,434 per annum.

Walsall Council is inviting applications for a Senior Reablement Officer to work within the Intermediate Care Service, part of the joint partnership between Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust and Walsall Adult Social Care. The role is part of a multi‑disciplinary team focused on supporting individuals in their own homes to regain or develop skills for independent living.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with individuals in their homes to support and encourage them to develop or regain skills for independent living.
  • Collaborate closely with the therapy team to deliver bespoke support and contribute to ongoing reviews.
  • Manage reablement officers on a day‑to‑day basis, providing 1:1 support and contributing to staff and team development.
  • Maintain good knowledge of CQC requirements and uphold service standards.
Key Requirements
  • Experience working in adult social care, with a proven track record of helping citizens achieve personal goals.
  • Experience managing a small team.
  • Excellent communication skills, confident and effective communicator.
  • Ability to motivate and encourage others in a busy, active environment.
  • Self‑starter who works independently while being a team player.
  • Understanding of CQC and related regulations.
  • Ability to communicate verbally with customers in accurate spoken English (English Language Fluency Duty).
  • Completed enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check (and OCRC/SOGC if applicable for overseas experience).
