- Conduct outreach work in pairs through daily street visits, engaging with people sleeping rough, assessing needs, and making referrals to housing providers.
- Support the smooth transition from the street to accommodation with personalized support plans for each individual.
- Manage a caseload of former rough sleepers in new accommodation, providing tenancy support to prevent return to homelessness.
- Demonstrate persistence, resilience, and creativity when engaging with rough sleepers, helping them manage and address challenges.
- Collaborate with partner services and community sectors through the Rough Sleeper Initiative (RSI) Team to facilitate moves into permanent accommodation.
- Remove barriers and create opportunities for rough sleepers and newly housed individuals through persistent, creative service.
- Provide early morning outreach and occasionally work unsociable hours, maintaining effective teamwork.
- Experience working with rough sleepers, hard‑to‑reach groups, or individuals with complex needs.
- Awareness of the challenges faced by homeless rough sleepers, including addiction, complex needs, and lack of access to public funds.
- Excellent communication, listening, negotiating, and advocacy skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a personal caseload.
- Proficiency in maintaining accurate records across multiple computerised systems.
- Conflict resolution skills to prevent escalation.
- Valid vehicle licence and ability to use a vehicle for work purposes.
