9:00am–5:30pm, with flexibility required

We are looking for an experienced Rough Sleeper Support Worker to support vulnerable adults who are homeless, sleeping rough or at risk of homelessness.
The role focuses on reducing repeat homelessness, helping people with complex needs build the skills, confidence and support networks needed to secure accommodation and maintain independent living.

Key responsibilities

Carry out outreach across Walsall to identify and engage with rough sleepers.

Complete holistic risk and needs assessments and develop appropriate support and risk management plans.

Support individuals to secure and maintain settled accommodation.

Provide regular one-to-one support and respond appropriately to crisis situations.

Safeguard the welfare of vulnerable service users.

Help individuals access benefits and maximise their income.

Support engagement with education, employment and other services.

Accompany service users to appointments where appropriate.

Maintain accurate support plans, case records and outcome information.

Work closely with partner agencies and other support services.

About you

You will ideally have previous experience working with rough sleepers, homeless adults or other vulnerable people with complex needs. You should have knowledge of issues including substance misuse, mental health, offending and exploitation, together with an up-to-date understanding of welfare rights, debt and housing legislation.
You must be confident dealing with challenging situations, completing risk assessments, maintaining accurate records and managing your own caseload and priorities.
Important: A full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work use are essential.
The role also requires flexibility to work early mornings, evenings and occasional weekends according to service demand
