We are currently recruiting for a Rough Sleep Support Worker to join Walsall Council on a 6-month contract, supporting vulnerable adults who are homeless, rough sleeping, or at risk of homelessness. This rewarding role is focused on helping individuals with complex needs achieve sustainable independence, reduce repeat homelessness, and access the support services they need to improve their lives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct outreach across the Walsall borough to identify and engage rough sleepers.
  • Carry out holistic risk and needs assessments and develop tailored support plans.
  • Support service users to access accommodation and maintain independent living.
  • Assist individuals in developing life skills, confidence, and positive support networks.
  • Encourage engagement with education, training, employment, and support services.
  • Support service users with benefits claims and maximising income.
  • Attend and accompany individuals to appointments where required.

  • Maintain accurate records, support plans, and case notes.
  • Promote safeguarding and wellbeing at all times.
About You:

  • Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload.
  • A flexible approach, including participation in an out-of-hours rota when required.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.

This is an excellent opportunity to make a genuine difference within the local community while gaining valuable experience within a dedicated homelessness support service. All offers will be subject to satisfactory compliance screening, including right to work in the UK and references. In addition, due to the nature of the role the appropriate level of criminal record disclosure will be undertaken.
