What you will do
- Lead and oversee all child protection activities, acting as a key decision-maker for child protection enquiries and conferences.
- Provide expert safeguarding advice and guidance to social workers and managers.
- Chair strategy meetings and child protection conferences, ensuring robust decision-making and appropriate threshold application.
- Oversee and quality assure child protection enquiries and safeguarding interventions.
- Support, supervise, mentor, and develop practitioners to strengthen child protection practice.
- Lead on complex safeguarding cases and provide specialist expertise across the service.
- Deliver training, coaching, and practice development initiatives.
- Monitor performance, undertake audits, and ensure statutory compliance.
- Contribute to service development, partnership working, and safeguarding improvement strategies.
- Deputise for senior management when required and support strategic safeguarding priorities.
- Promote best practice and ensure children’s voices remain central to all safeguarding activity.
