Job Description
Manpower are looking for a Van Delivery Driver to work for our client based in Willenhall and Northampton. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing company, working in brand-new facilities with top-of-the-line equipment, while making a positive environmental impact.
Job OverviewAs a Van Delivery Driver, you will be the "face of the business," delivering fresh cooking oil to the catering industry and collecting used oil to return to the Microsite. Relationship building with customers is key, as our client aims to ensure every order is fulfilled in a timely, efficient, and friendly manner. You’ll also have the opportunity to assist in generating new business during your rounds.
This is an ongoing temporary position with an immediate start paying £13.46 per hour.
- Pre‑trip inspection of the vehicle to ensure that it is in proper working order and complies with safety regulations.
- Regular maintenance of the vehicle and reporting any mechanical issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Driving the vehicle safely and efficiently, while adhering to traffic laws and all safety regulations and procedures.
- Safely loading and unloading cargo and ensuring it is secured according to safety regulations.
- Delivering fresh oil to the catering/restaurant trade and collecting used cooking oil.
- Making/taking payment for oil and maintaining accuracy of cash/pre‑paid cards.
- Communicating with dispatch and customers to provide updates on delivery times and any issues that arise during transport.
- Accurately recording information following oil delivery and/or collection, e.g., completion of Waste Transfer Notes.
- Reporting missed or failed deliveries on a daily basis to the Microsite Manager.
- Building and maintaining good relationships with customers and prospective customers, assisting with sales efforts when required.
- Valid UK driving licence with no points or endorsements.
- Own vehicle and clean driving record.
- Minimum 6 months of van driving experience in the UK.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Professional appearance and conduct at all times.
- Friendly, positive attitude with a willingness to engage with customers.
- Experience in business‑to‑business sales and achieving sales targets is desirable but not essential.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle safety and workplace health and safety regulations.
- Problem‑solving ability and attention to detail.
- Reliability and flexibility, including nights, weekends, and holidays if needed.
