Class 1 Container Driver Nights

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Class 1 container Driver to join our well-established client based in Walsall, West Midlands. This is a fantastic opportunity, offering excellent rates of pay and genuine opportunities for growth and progression. This role requires valid dock cards due to the nature of work.

Shifts: Monday to Friday 18:00 starts - shifts circa 12 hours

Rates of pay: £16.80 per hour

As a Class 1 Driver, your duties will include (but not be limited to):

• Carrying out dock deliveries and collections.
• Operating and driving Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently to and from delivery locations
• Performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Ensuring all cargo is loaded and secured properly
• Adhering to traffic laws and regulations
• Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers
• Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
• Assisting with loading and unloading of cargo when required

• A valid UK Category CE licence
• A minimum of 12 month's experience driving CE vehicles
• No more than six penalty points for minor infringements, with no major endorsement codes
• A valid UK CPC card and Digi card
• Dock cards are essential
• Good spoken and written English
• Punctuality and excellent time-keeping skills
• A solid understanding of traffic laws and regulations
• Effective communication skills

• Previous commercial driving experience
• Previous multi-drop delivery experience

• Driver’s assessment must be completed before starting
