Zonal Response Operative

Purpose of the role

Colas is looking for a Zonal Response Team (ZRT) Operative to work predominantly nights, with occasional flexibility for day shifts as required by business needs. The role will be based at our Bescot depot, WS1 4NL
. You will work under instruction from the Dispatcher in the Regional Operational Centre and your supervisors, ensuring work orders are carried out on time, to the required quality standards, and safely.

42 hour working week, 4 on 4 off shift - Monthly Paid

Additional rates paid for overtime and shift patterns

20.5 days annual leave per year inclusive of bank holidays

• Carrying out temporary highway repairs safely
• Installing and removing traffic management
• Operating machinery and equipment
• Following COSHH and HAVS safety procedures
• Driving in line with Road Traffic Act regulations
• Working 4 days on / 4 days off (including days, nights & bank holidays)
• Ensuring all operations within our area of responsibility are undertaken with full regard for the safety of visitors, other staff and oneself
• Ensuring all activities are undertaken with due regard for the environment, preventing pollution, complying with legal and corporate requirements, and minimising environmental impact

• Experience in highways maintenance or a similar environment
• Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
• HGV Class 2 Licence is required unless you come from a strong Traffic Management work background
• C1E driving experience desirable
• Traffic Management experience beneficial
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors
• Able to work independently and within a team
• DCPC and TTMBC qualifications desirable
