SERVICE DRIVER - Aldridge, West Midlands

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Service Driver to join our well-established client based in Aldridge, West Midlands.

This position would suit applicants looking for a role as a Service Driver, 3.5 Tonne Driver or Delivery Driver
.

Shifts:
  • Rota-based shifts (to include weekend working)
  • 08:00 - 16:00
Rates of Pay:
  • £12.71 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties:

As a Service Driver
, your duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Swapping out equipment on client sites
  • Servicing equipment on client sites
  • Carrying out general yard duties
  • Operating and driving 3.5-tonne vehicles safely and efficiently
  • Completing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Ensuring all loads are secure before transport
  • Adhering to UK traffic laws and company procedures
  • Communicating effectively with dispatch teams and customers
  • Reporting vehicle defects or maintenance issues promptly
  • Assisting with loading and unloading when required
Essential

Skills:

To be successful as a Service Driver
, you will need:

  • Valid UK Category B driving licence
  • Minimum of 12 months' experience driving Category B vehicles
  • No more than six penalty points for minor offences (no major endorsements)
  • Good knowledge of the UK road network
  • Good spoken and written English
  • Excellent punctuality and time management
  • Strong understanding of road safety and traffic regulations
  • Effective communication skills
Desirable

Experience:
  • Previous commercial driving experience
Training Provided:
  • Driver assessment required prior to starting
  • One-day paid induction following a successful assessment
  • Industry-related training and ongoing support throughout your assignment
