Assistant Warehouse Manager

We are looking for a reliable and organised Assistant Warehouse Manager to join our growing building merchant wholesale business. The successful candidate will support the Warehouse Manager in overseeing the daily warehouse operations, ensuring the efficient storage, handling, and distribution of building materials and merchant products.. . • Assist the Warehouse Manager with the day-to-day running of the warehouse.
• Supervise warehouse staff and allocate daily workloads.
• Ensure customer orders are picked, packed, and dispatched accurately and on time.
• Maintain stock accuracy through regular stock checks and inventory control.
• Coordinate incoming deliveries and inspect goods for quality and accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
• Maintain accurate warehouse records using inventory management systems.
• Liaise with the sales, purchasing, and transport teams to ensure efficient operations.
• Monitor warehouse equipment and report maintenance requirements.
• Help improve warehouse efficiency while reducing stock loss and operational costs.

• Previous experience in warehouse or logistics operations, preferably within the building materials or merchant sector.
• Good organisational and leadership skills.
• Knowledge of stock control and warehouse management systems.
• Understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team.

Experience: Required

Employment: Full-time

Salary: £31,300 – £42,000 yearly
