Tax Manager

We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to support a national public accounting firm's growing tax practice in their Waltham, Massachusetts office. This is a hybrid role requiring three days onsite per week in the Waltham office. This role will manage complex tax engagements, oversee client compliance needs, identify tax planning opportunities, and serve as a primary point of contact for clients.

The Tax Manager will also lead and develop Tax Staff and Seniors while managing workflows, deadlines, and deliverables.

• Manage tax engagements across industries including technology, life sciences, financial services, venture capital, and consumer goods
• Review complex tax returns and tax provision work
• Manage client tax compliance requirements and identify tax and business issues
• Recognize and communicate tax planning opportunities
• Serve as a primary client contact and provide high-quality client service
• Manage engagement workflows, deadlines, deliverables, and client communications
• Lead, train, and develop Tax Staff and Seniors
• Apply strong project management, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills across engagements

• Active CPA license required
• 5+ years of public accounting experience
• 2+ years of managerial experience
• Strong understanding of pass-through entity structures
• Working knowledge of corporate taxation
• Understanding of partnership taxation, particularly partnership equity investments
• Ability to understand clients’ businesses and industries and translate that knowledge into effective tax guidance

• Master’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related field
• Experience serving clients across technology, life sciences, financial services, venture capital, or consumer goods
