Director, Commercial Supply Chain Planning and Operations

Zenas Bio Pharma is a clinical-stage global biopharmaceutical company committed to developing and commercializing transformative therapies for patients with autoimmune diseases. We are advancing two late-stage product candidates—obexelimab and orelabrutinib—and pursuing additional early-stage programs in immunology.

Position Summary

The Commercial Supply Chain Planning and Operations Director will lead commercial planning and execution for Zenas’ first commercial product in the U.S. and the EU. The role develops and maintains end‑to‑end commercial supply plans, production schedules, and inventory strategies to ensure seamless product availability at launch and beyond. The Director also leads cross‑functional launch readiness activities and drives the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, performance metrics, and scenario modeling to optimize supply strategies aligned with regulatory filings, market forecasts, and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead cross‑functional commercial supply and launch readiness activities for the first product launch in the US and EU.
  • Develop, drive and maintain detailed launch plans ensuring overall supply chain and CMC readiness for commercial launch.
  • Build and maintain commercial supply models, forecasts, and capacity plans based on market demand, inventory strategies, and lead times.
  • Coordinate with CDMOs to establish production schedules, campaign plans, and batch execution aligned to forecast requirements and contractual commitments.
  • Lead monthly supply planning reviews and provide input into the S&OP process, highlighting risks, opportunities, and recommended actions.
  • Partner with CMC, Quality, Regulatory, and Commercial to align supply strategies with registration timelines, market access, and forecast assumptions.
  • Track and report key supply performance metrics (e.g., service level, plan adherence, capacity utilization, inventory health) and develop supply chain dashboards, reports, and KPIs to support executive decision‑making.
  • Partner with Quality and Technical Operations to ensure compliant product release and distribution readiness.
  • Support cost and budget management for commercial supply chain activities, including scenario‑based financial impact modeling.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for planning systems, tools, and processes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 12+ years in biotech or pharmaceutical supply chain management, with 3+ years in commercial or late‑stage launch readiness.
  • Proven experience managing CDMO relationships and external manufacturing operations (Drug Substance, Drug Product, and Packaging & Labeling).
  • Hands‑on expertise in supply planning, launch planning, forecasting, and S&OP processes.
  • Strong understanding of GMP manufacturing, regulatory submission impact on supply, and global distribution logistics.
  • Excellent analytical and modeling skills; advanced skills in Excel and/or supply planning tools.
  • Strong project management and cross‑functional leadership capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information for senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic, and matrixed environment.
  • Comfortable managing ambiguity and building new processes from the ground up.
  • Ability to work flexible business hours to travel and communicate with global business partners (up to 10–20% of time).
Compensation and Benefits

The position is a hybrid role and eligible for a competitive compensation and benefits package. Zenas is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary pay range for this role is $175,200 to $219,000. Compensation will depend on experience, education, skillset, overall performance, and/or location. Additional components include an annual performance bonus, equity, a full range of benefits, and other incentive compensation plans.
