Senior Manager, FP&A – G&A Business Partner

Madrigal is a biopharmaceutical company focused on delivering novel therapeutics for metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), a serious liver disease that can progress to cirrhosis, liver failure, need for liver transplantation and premature mortality. Madrigal’s medication, Rezdiffra (resmetirom), is a once-daily, oral, liver-directed THR-β agonist designed to target key underlying causes of MASH. Rezdiffra is the first and only medication approved by both the FDA and European Commission for the treatment of MASH with moderate to advanced fibrosis (F2 to F3). An ongoing Phase 3 outcomes trial is evaluating Rezdiffra for the treatment of compensated MASH cirrhosis (F4c).

The Senior Manager of FP&A will be a key member of Madrigal’s Finance team, serving as both a strategic business partner and a hands‑on leader of the financial planning and analysis processes supporting Madrigal’s G&A organization. This highly visible role will serve as the strategic finance partner to numerous members of Madrigal’s Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and their respective departments, including the CFO, CIO, CHRO, CLO.

The Senior Manager of FP&A will be a trusted advisor who shapes resource allocation decisions, informs investment priorities, and translates financial results into actionable insights for executive stakeholders.

• Strategic ELT Business Partnering: Serve as the strategic finance partner to numerous members of the Executive Leadership Team and their departments. Build trusted relationships with ELT members and department leaders, providing forward‑looking insights into planning, forecasting, variance analysis, and investment decisions, and proactively bringing recommendations that shape strategy and resource allocation.
• Technology & IT Finance: Partner with the CIO and IT leadership on technology spend planning, including software/SaaS licensing, infrastructure, IT services, and vendor contracts, as well as capital versus expense treatment of technology investments. Evaluate business cases, ROI, and total cost of ownership for major technology initiatives, and track spend against approved budgets.
• Month End Close & Spend Governance: Own the month‑end close process for G&A departments, ensuring accurate accrual, prepaid, and reclass entries in partnership with Accounting. Establish and reinforce spend governance, ensuring Purchase Orders are opened in line with approved budgets and proactively escalating unbudgeted commitments to business partners and Finance leadership.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the annual budget, quarterly forecast, and long‑range planning processes for G&A departments for all OpEx spend, inclusive of headcount forecasting, as well as capital expenditures. Drive continuous improvement of planning processes, models, timelines, and stakeholder engagement.
• Financial Reporting & Executive Communication: Own monthly and quarterly financial reporting, including actual‑versus‑budget/forecast reporting for business partners and quarterly LBE (Latest Best Estimate) reporting. Develop and present ELT‑ready materials that clearly communicate financial performance, key drivers, risks, and opportunities.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; MBA, CPA, or CFA preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive finance/FP&A experience required, 2+ years in the pharma/biotech/life sciences industry preferred.
