Base pay range: $15.00/hr - $17.05/hr
OverviewThe Salvation Army's Waltham Corps is hiring a Hope Kitchen Coordinator & Cook. This role offers the following benefits to part‑time employees:

Pay Range: $15.00 - $17.05 per hour
Hours:
28 hours per week
Coordinator responsibilities include ensuring smooth operations of the Hope Kitchen and collaborating with other department heads to fulfill the Salvation Army mission.
Education Requirements- High School Graduate or Equivalence
- Some practical training in the social work area preferable
- Minimum of 2 years experience working with a similar program
- Certification for Food Produce Safety
- Certification in Safe Serve approved by the Department of Health
- Training in maintenance of a healthy preparation environment
- Prepare and cook meals for programs
- Clean and maintain Hope Kitchen facilities
- Keep sign‑in book for meals served current
- Maintain a record/sign‑up of all baked goods given to Food Pantry clients
- Work with CO to develop and implement a monthly menu
- Maintain an ongoing list of needed items for the food program and provide it to the Office Manager for purchase
- Work closely with Pantry Worker to keep cupboards stocked and notify Office Manager of shortages in a timely manner
- Train, instruct, and manage volunteers serving at the Hope Kitchen
- Maintain an up‑to‑date record of volunteer sign‑in sheet and hours volunteered
- Coordinate with volunteers/custodian to ensure all garbage receptacles are emptied and cleaned at the end of the day
- Represent The Salvation Army's spiritual ministry and social mission in the community at large
- Engage in Christian spiritual conversation with members of the public and in the corps facility when opportunity or need arises
- Pray with individuals when opportunity or need arise
- Recognize spiritual needs of persons that may require referral to Corps Officers
- Other duties may be assigned as needed to support the above tasks
