Director of Scientific Strategy & External Partnering

I’m working on a confidential search for a rapidly growing biotech seeking an experienced scientific leader to join its Business Development organization.

This is a unique opportunity for a PhD-level scientist with strong industry experience who wants to move closer to business development, partnering and external strategy.
Prior BD experience is not required.

• Greater Boston area | Hybrid
• Work closely with senior BD leadership and R&D teams
• Support global partnering and external collaboration activities
• Translate complex scientific data into compelling narratives for pharma/biotech partners
• Participate in partner meetings, due diligence, scientific Q&A and external presentations
• Represent the company at relevant scientific and industry conferences

• PhD in biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, molecular/cell biology, peptide chemistry or a related field
• Strong biotech/pharma industry experience
• Deep understanding of drug discovery and development
• Excellent scientific communication and presentation skills
• Comfortable engaging with both senior scientists and executives
• Able to critically assess complex data and communicate scientific differentiation clearly
• Strong cross-functional and interpersonal skills
• Mandarin is a plus
