ROLE:
Scientist/Senior Scientist, Immunology Cell Therapy Discovery
- Design and complete laboratory-based experiments with high consistency and performance
- Analyze data, present findings to team, and propose next steps
- Work collaboratively within the immunology cell therapy discovery team and cross-functionally across Astra Zeneca
- Maintain a high standard of ELN documentation
- Education:
- Scientist: BS with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Immunology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or related field OR a MS degree with a minimum of 3+ years of relevant industry/academic experience.
- Senior Scientist:
PhD with 0–3+ years post PhD or BS/MS with 6–10+ years demonstrated impact in cell therapy discovery.
- Immunology expertise:
Handson experience with human primary immune cells, especially T cells, including isolation, activation, expansion, and functional assays. - Flow cytometry:
Confirmed ability to design multicolor panels, troubleshoot artifacts, set gates/controls (FMO/Isotype), and perform thorough data analysis using Flow Jo, PRISM, and/or OMIC. - MSD/ELISA:
Experience running and troubleshooting MSD/ELISA assays with strong understanding of assay performance metrics and statistics. - Molecular cloning and lentivirus:
Competence in construct design, cloning, LV packaging, concentration, titration, and safe handling per BSL
2. - Data difficulty:
Strong experimental design, statistical analysis, and clear communication in presentations and reports. - Teamwork:
Ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative environment, managing multiple priorities and delivering on timelines.
Compensation and Benefits
:
The annual base pay for this position ranges from $87,200 - $130,800. Our positions offer eligibility for various incentives including short-term incentive bonuses, equity-based awards for salaried roles and commissions for sales roles. Benefits include qualified retirement programs, paid time off (vacation, holiday, and leaves), and health, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with plan terms.
Location and Start Timeline
:
This role is based out of our scenic Waltham Bio Hub and will move to our new R&D center in Kendal Square by the end of 2026.
