The Electrician will Install, troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment and distribution systems involving work of a varied nature with minimum supervision. Must have thorough knowledge of electrical codes regarding installation of electrical systems. Must have a minimum of four years’ experience in the electrical maintenance field with the knowledge and understanding of high voltage and low voltage distribution systems.

-Fri. 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Saturday/Sunday Off)
** Pay Rate:** $43.67/per hour
** ESSENTIAL & OTHER

JOB FUNCTIONS:

*** Keep records, write reports and identify electrical materials.
* Work from blueprints, drawings, sketches and/or verbal instructions to plan, layout and install electrical equipment.
* Must work on ladders, bucket trucks, scaffolds, and pits.
* Read, write, understand and carry out oral and written instructions in English.
* Establish and maintain a positive cooperative working relationship with supervisors, fellow workers, department heads and other members of the campus community.
* Work in an environment subject to frequent changing of priorities and time deadlines.
* Manually lift up to 60 pounds. Heavier material or equipment is lifted using other methods.
* Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair any of the variety of electrical equipment or systems, such as generators, transformers, switchboards, motors, motor starters, conduit systems, and fire alarm systems.
* Install and maintain wiring systems, fixtures and emergency lighting systems in existing buildings.
* Make necessary computations relating to load requirements.
* Must utilize a variety of electrician’s tools and testing instruments.
* Must have good working knowledge of control systems, electric and pneumatic, in order to make minor repairs and adjustments.
* Must observe safety rules and regulations at all times.
* OSHA 10 training preferred.
* Must have sufficient knowledge of HVAC and plumbing equipment to make minor repairs and adjustments.
* Must have sufficient knowledge in the installation of meters and related equipment wherever requested on campus.
* Must be a high school or trade school graduate.
* Must possess a valid driver’s license.
* Must possess a Massachusetts State Journeyman’s license. This list is representative of those duties and responsibilities that are required of this position. However, the list is not to be considered as all inclusive.

** Insulation resistance meter (megger), recording ammeters single and three phase, recording voltmeters single and three phase, underground high and low voltage cable tracer, high voltage voltmeter tester.#
