Software Engineer II​/C++ Developer * PC

We are seeking a motivated and self-driven C++/Qt Software Engineer to join our team supporting the development of cutting‑edge biotech instruments and analysis software for spatial multiomics, a rapidly expanding market within the biotech field. As part of the team, you will develop innovative and highly interactive software solutions for our analytics application portfolio that enable our customers to achieve deep and novel insights in their research.

This person will join a global cross‑disciplinary team operating in a fast‑paced environment aiming to bring state‑of‑the‑art instruments and applications for biological research to market with the intent of improving the lives of patients and supporting the ultimate goal of Miltenyi Biotec in “making cancer history”.

• Develop new features for analysis and visualization within Miltenyi’s highly interactive image and multiomics analysis software, primarily using C++ and Qt.
• Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, commented code with unit tests.
• Perform design reviews, pull requests in a GIT/C++ environment.
• Participate in agile ceremonies as a member of a cross‑functional agile team.
• Expand your education in relevant topic areas such as the spatial multiomics marketplace to foster innovative.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science; 3 years of experience in writing and reviewing production level source code (C++ and Qt) with skills like multithreading, adding UI widgets, etc.
• Ability to work within an international cross‑discipline team.
• Experience in an imaging field like microcopy, image processing or scientific visualization.
• Experience working with biological applications.
• C++ and Qt proficiency.
• Experience in building and managing relationships with all stakeholders.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Enthusiasm for working in a matrix environment, with demonstrated skills in collaboration.
• The position will be based at Miltenyi’s Waltham MA site and offer options for a flexible hybrid (partially remote) work schedule.

The hiring range for this position is expected to fall between $129,300 - $152,150/year, reflecting the range candidates can reasonably expect to be considered for at time of offer, based on factors such as experience, internal equity, and qualifications.
