Civil Engineering An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commissioning Manager to join a major infrastructure project on the South Coast. The role will take responsibility for the commissioning and handover of complex Civil Engineering and MEICA systems, working closely with the client, construction teams, specialist subcontractors and equipment suppliers. This is a key position within the project delivery team, offering the opportunity to take ownership of commissioning activities from planning and testing through to operational handover.

Key Responsibilities Lead the commissioning strategy and delivery for associated process systems. Develop detailed commissioning plans and programmes in conjunction with project planners, subcontractors and the wider delivery team. Coordinate commissioning activities from installation and testing through to final acceptance and handover. Manage process trials and performance testing, reviewing results and producing technical reports and recommendations. Plan and oversee equipment testing, including Factory Acceptance Tests and site-based commissioning activities.

Work with equipment manufacturers, suppliers and specialist subcontractors to ensure plant and systems are correctly installed, tested and brought into operation. Coordinate functional testing and demonstrate that completed systems meet specified performance and operational requirements. Review technical information including functional specifications, test documentation, system architecture, control philosophies and I/O schedules. Ensure commissioning documentation is complete, accurate and available ahead of testing and handover.

Liaise with the client and operational teams to agree commissioning requirements, operating procedures and handover arrangements. Coordinate with construction teams to ensure commissioning activities are aligned with the wider construction programme. Plan any required outages, isolations and operational interfaces to allow commissioning activities to proceed safely and efficiently. Provide technical guidance, training and support to client personnel responsible for operating newly commissioned assets.

Monitor commissioning progress and proactively identify programme, technical, commercial, quality and safety risks. Support the preparation and review of Method Statements, Risk Assessments and commissioning documentation. Undertake or coordinate process and analytical testing as required. Ensure all commissioning activities comply with relevant Health & Safety, environmental and quality requirements. Consider environmental controls and regulatory requirements associated with commissioning, including water management and discharge arrangements.

Maintain accurate records of testing, performance results, defects, outstanding actions and final acceptance. About You The successful Commissioning Manager will have proven experience in process commissioning within Civil Engineering. You will be confident managing commissioning activities on major construction or design and build projects and able to work effectively across technical, operational and commercial interfaces. You will ideally have:
Demonstrable experience in commissioning within the Civil Engineering industry or a closely related process environment. Experience working for a main contractor or specialist contractor on major infrastructure or construction projects. Degree, HND or HNC qualification in Civil Engineering Strong understanding of commissioning, testing, plant acceptance and operational handover. Experience coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, vendors and client representatives. Knowledge of CDM regulations and current Health & Safety requirements.

Understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems. Full UK driving licence. CSCS Card Why Apply?
