Senior Contract Manager
Salary – £60,000 - £80,000 per annum (plus benefits)
Hours – Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Location – Waltham Forest, E10 7AS

As a Senior Contract Manager at FCC Environment, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient and effective delivery of frontline environmental services, ensuring excellent service for our client while operating in line with agreed budgets and company standards. This role has full responsibility for managing and overseeing all aspects of the waste collections, street cleansing and grounds maintenance contract for the London Borough of Waltham Forest, ensuring full compliance with health and safety, environmental legislation and FCC policies and procedures.

This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week.

What will you be doing?

- Taking full responsibility for the health and safety of employees, contractors and site visitors, setting a strong personal example and ensuring full compliance with SHEQ requirements
- Managing and leading operational teams, including line management responsibilities, welfare support and performance management
- Ensuring all services are delivered in line with contract requirements, agreed standards and customer expectations
- Managing and monitoring contract budgets, reporting on performance and highlighting risks or potential overspends
- Overseeing staffing, attendance, wages administration and training requirements
- Maintaining strong working relationships with the client, trade unions and key stakeholders
- Ensuring effective use of fleet, fuel, equipment and tracking systems to validate service delivery
- Promoting continuous improvement, operational efficiency and high service standards
- Representing FCC Environment professionally and positively, including supporting new business opportunities where appropriate

What are we looking for?

- Proven experience managing large local authority contracts, ideally within waste collection, street cleansing or environmental services

- Experience of managing high-value contracts (£10m+ per annum)
- Strong leadership, organisational and people management skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong understanding of health & safety, environmental compliance and operational best practice
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and make sound decisions
- Full, clean UK driving licence

Desirable qualifications include IOSH/IOSHH for Managers, CPC (Transport Manager), COTC and relevant environmental or operational certifications.
