Nightingale Community Academy is a special school in Wandsworth, providing education for boys aged between 5 to 19 with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. Our primary pupils benefit from a purpose-built classroom hub, an outdoor adventure playground, weekly music lessons, and a comprehensive therapy service. Secondary and post-16 students have access to a broad curriculum, including vocational courses such as motor vehicle studies, construction, horticulture, and hospitality.
All pupils also enjoy regular animal therapy sessions at Tom’s Farm, located on our expansive school grounds.

We are looking for a caring and committed Teaching Assistant/Learning Support Assistant to support our students' educational journey. Your day-to-day assistance will be crucial in providing the help and encouragement students need to thrive in a supportive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Support pupils’ learning and development under the guidance of the class teacher, including one-to-one and small group interventions.
- Promote positive behaviour and social-emotional development, supporting pupils to manage emotions and interact successfully with peers.
- Assist with planning and delivering activities, adapting resources to meet individual needs.
- Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to assessment and planning.
- Support the school’s ethos of safety and inclusion, ensuring all pupils feel valued and supported.
- Experience working with children, preferably in an SEMH, special needs, or educational setting.
- Demonstrates patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills, able to build trusting relationships with pupils.
- Is proactive and flexible, able to adapt to the needs of different pupils and situations.
- Has basic literacy, numeracy, and IT skills, with the ability to support learning across the curriculum.
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, understanding the importance of confidentiality and school policies.
