Lead Teacher; Pre-School Room Leader

Position: Lead Teacher (Pre-School Room Leader)
Location: Balham

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Lead Teacher (Pre-School Room Leader) to join a well-established nursery in Wandsworth.

This is a full-time leadership position within a high-quality Early Years setting and is ideal for an experienced Level 3 practitioner looking to progress into a rewarding leadership role. The nursery offers a unique learning environment with a strong community focus, providing children with engaging experiences that support their development and wellbeing.

You will be:

* Leading the day-to-day practice within the pre-school room and delivering high-quality teaching and learning

* Managing, mentoring, and supporting a small team to maintain outstanding standards of care and education

* Planning and delivering engaging activities in line with the EYFS framework

* Acting as a key person and building positive relationships with children and their families

* Monitoring children's progress through observations, assessments, and next-step planning

* Promoting safeguarding, health and safety, and maintaining full compliance with EYFS requirements

* Working closely with parents, carers, and external professionals to support children's individual needs

* Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the room and contributing to continuous improvement across the nursery

The successful candidate will hold a minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification and have previous experience within a pre-school room, ideally in a senior practitioner or room leader position. A strong understanding of the EYFS framework, safeguarding, child development, and staff leadership is essential. Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills are required.
