Behaviour Mentor

* South London

* Full-Time or Cover

* Long-Term Position

 * £95 - £120 per day (depending on experience)

Are you passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential?

We are currently recruiting Behaviour Mentors to work across specialist schools, alternative provisions, and mainstream settings throughout South London. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in education, youth work, sports coaching, mentoring, social care, or residential support.

The Role

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with students who require additional support with their behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning. You will build positive relationships, provide guidance, and help students develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed both in and out of the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

* Supporting students on a 1:1 and small-group basis.

* Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.

* Managing challenging behaviour using de-escalation techniques.

* Acting as a positive role model and mentor.

* Helping students engage with learning and school life.

* Supporting pupils with SEMH needs, Autism, ADHD, and other additional needs.

* Working collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams, and external agencies.

The Ideal Candidate

* Previous experience working with young people in education, youth work, mentoring, coaching, residential care, or support work.

* Strong behaviour management and communication skills.

* Ability to remain calm under pressure and build positive relationships.

* Resilient, patient, and empathetic nature.

* Passion for supporting vulnerable children and young people.

* Team Teach training is advantageous but not essential.
