Kyocera Precision Tools is looking for an experienced Set Up A associate to support our manufacturing operations in Wapakoneta, Ohio. This role is ideal for someone with strong machining skills who can handle complex setups, resolve production challenges, and ensure equipment is ready to produce quality parts.

Key Responsibilities

• Machine Setup & Operation: Set up and operate CNC, manual, grinding, and related manufacturing equipment; adjust feeds and speeds and modify or write programs as needed.
• Troubleshooting & Adjustments: Diagnose setup and equipment issues, adjust machine parameters, and monitor machine sounds, gauges, and dials to identify potential problems.
• Quality & Inspection: Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and production routings; perform first-piece and in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment.
• Maintenance & Tooling: Perform routine machine maintenance and lubrication and maintain required tooling and manufacturing supplies.
• Safety & Documentation: Follow established safety procedures and Quality Management System requirements, maintain a clean work area, and complete production paperwork accurately.
• Teamwork & Continuous Improvement: Assist with troubleshooting and process improvements and train or support associates with machine setup and operation as needed.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English and interpret machine displays and mechanical drawings.

Preferred Qualifications

• Three years of CNC machining and/or grinding experience.
• Knowledge of decimal and metric measurements, basic math, and precision measuring equipment (micrometers, indicators, etc.).
• Familiarity with carbide and indexable tooling, machine programming, and troubleshooting setup issues.
• Ability to recognize equipment issues through machine operation and sounds.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• This position is performed in a well-lit, climate-controlled manufacturing environment with moderate to loud noise levels.
• The role requires continuous standing and walking, frequent gripping and use of the hands and wrists, and occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, and bending. Associates may handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds and frequently work with sharp cutting tools, oils, and cutting or grinding fluids.
• Associates must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
