Role Description The Vice Chancellor is the chief executive and academic leader of VISTAR University and is responsible for providing strategic direction, academic leadership, and administrative oversight across all schools and departments. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Warangal. Day-to-day responsibilities include setting and implementing the university’s academic vision, overseeing curriculum development, promoting high-quality teaching and research, and ensuring adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards.
The Vice Chancellor will work closely with deans, department heads, faculty, and administrative staff to manage budgets, optimize resource allocation, and support student services. The role also includes fostering partnerships with industry, government, and community stakeholders, leading fundraising and development initiatives, and promoting an inclusive, equitable, and respectful campus culture.
Qualifications
Extensive academic leadership experience in higher education, including prior service in senior roles such as Dean, Pro Vice Chancellor, or equivalent.
Strong background in strategic planning, institutional governance, and policy development within a university or comparable academic setting.
Demonstrated track record of supporting high-quality teaching, research, and innovation, with an understanding of contemporary higher education trends.
Proven ability to manage budgets, oversee resource planning, and ensure effective administrative operations.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse internal and external partners.
Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and to maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for students, faculty, and staff.
Experience building partnerships with industry, government agencies, academic bodies, and community organizations; experience with fundraising and development is an advantage.
Recognized academic credentials, typically a doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) from an accredited institution, along with a strong record of scholarly achievements.
Familiarity with national higher education regulations, accreditation requirements, and quality assurance frameworks relevant to universities in the region.
Ability to reside in or relocate to Warangal and maintain a visible, engaged presence on campus.
