Job Summary

Baystate Health, Western Massachusetts’ premier healthcare provider, and home to Baystate Medical Practices, the largest multispecialty group in the region is looking for a Full-time Patient Service Representative to join our experienced Quabbin Pediatrics team in Palmer, MA.

The compensation range(s) in the table below represent the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range.

Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.

Minimum – Midpoint – Maximum

$17.63 – $22.54 – $29.24

RESPONSIBILITIES

Baystate Health’s Patient Service Representatives perform a variety of different tasks throughout the day. This includes greeting patients, checking in and checking out, requesting copays, verifying insurances, answering telephones, and faxing medical documents.

SCHEDULE
  • Full-time, 36 hours a week
  • Monday through Friday, 8:30‑5 pm
  • No weekends, No holidays
LOCATION
  • 40 Wright St
  • Palmer, MA
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • At least 6 months in a medical office setting (preferred)
  • Great interpersonal skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment (must)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, keyboard, Microsoft Office, scheduling systems, electronic and paper medical records, billing, basic math, reading and writing, customer service

The base pay range above considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including knowledge/skills; relevant experience and training; education/certifications/licensure; and other business and organizational factors.
