Full-Time, Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm Pay Rate: £14.25–£14.95 per hour

We are recruiting an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant / SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Wool, Dorset. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building positive relationships with children and supporting their academic, social and emotional development. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in helping pupils access the curriculum, develop independence and feel confident within the classroom.
Responsibilities- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
- Support children with additional needs to access learning and participate fully in classroom activities
- Work alongside the class teacher and SENCo to deliver personalised support strategies
- Help pupils develop confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours
- Support children with communication, literacy, numeracy and social development
- Assist with classroom activities, lesson preparation and learning resources
- Encourage emotional regulation and use positive behaviour support strategies
- Monitor pupil progress and contribute to observations, assessments and support plans
- Create a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment for all pupils
- Experience supporting children or young people within an education, SEND, childcare or care setting (desirable)
- A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs
- A patient, compassionate and adaptable approach
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships
- Confidence supporting children on a 1:1 and small group basis
- The ability to work effectively as part of a supportive school team
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
- Experience supporting pupils with Autism (ASC), SEMH, communication needs or learning difficulties
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, SEN TA, SEND TA or Learning Support Assistant
