Are you a Speech and Language Therapist looking to make a difference to the lives of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Join the London Borough of Merton's expanding Speech and Language Therapy Service and become part of a supportive and forward-thinking team.

We are seeking an enthusiastic therapist to provide assessment, diagnosis and intervention for children and young people with a range of speech, language and communication needs, including Developmental Language Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder and complex SEND. Working across educational settings, you will collaborate with schools, families and multi-disciplinary professionals to support positive outcomes for children and young people.

As part of our SEND Integrated Service, you will help build the confidence and skills of education staff through training, consultation and advice, while contributing to inclusive practice across the borough.

As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will work with children and young people with a range of speech, language and communication needs across educational settings in Merton. You will carry out assessments, develop and deliver effective intervention programmes, and provide advice and support to schools, families and other professionals to help children achieve the best possible outcomes.

You will work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary SEND service, supporting inclusive practice within schools and helping education staff develop the skills and confidence to meet pupils' communication needs. The role also involves contributing to training, consultation, service development and statutory processes where appropriate.

This is a varied and rewarding role offering opportunities to work with a diverse caseload, build strong relationships with schools and families, and make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and young people across the borough.

• Assessing, diagnosing and delivering evidence-based interventions for children and young people with speech, language and communication needs.
• Producing reports and recommendations to support educational outcomes and SEND provision.
• Working collaboratively with schools, families, SENCOs and other professionals to ensure joined-up support.
• Providing advice, consultation and training to education staff to build capacity within schools.
• Supporting inclusive education and contributing to positive outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
• Maintaining accurate clinical records and contributing to service development and quality improvement initiatives.
• Working as part of a supportive multi-disciplinary SEND Integrated Service.
